The Fayetteville Symphony, the oldest community-sponsored symphony in North Carolina, gives frequent performances throughout the year. Local Fayetteville entertainment presents a number of
live theatre groups. The Cape Fear Regional Theatre in historic Haymont features local talent and guest performers fresh from Broadway, television and film. Gilbert Theatre located above Fascinate-U Children's Museum presents thought-provoking drama, irreverent musicals and local original work. Events
One of the biggest Fayetteville events of the year happens during prime golf season. The Fayetteville Dogwood Festival takes place every spring and is an all-out celebration with concerts by national recording artists, Fayetteville events, parades, exhibits and fun. After all, Fayetteville is home to the 82nd Airborne and Ft Bragg, one of the largest military bases in the world. The museum's interactive and engaging exhibits tell the story of the first volunteers to jump from a perfectly good airplane to the Airborne and Special Operations proven and vital role in protecting our country.
